Why are love stories so good?

~the pain they put you thru,
~the exaggerated misses
~the yearning
~the tears
~the blurr of the background as the couple is focused
~the lovely music that enchants it all
~the inability the express your feelings to the characters
~the countless things they did wrong
~the "could have been"s
~the "romantic" things guys/girls do
~the miscomunications
~the things you can relate to
~the frustration of not being able to do anything as you watch one character __ as the other char not see it/walks away etc..
~the deceit, the accusations, the innocent vs guilty
~the complicatedness
~the fact that they went thru so much in order to get that relationship.
~the cliches
~the unrealistic ideals
~the amount of time they seem to be able to have together
~the happy, or sad physically but mentally happy endings

~the realisation that your stories are like theirs.. without the happy endings, or the coincidences that make everything possible, or both parties interested. Ever heard one that includes a spurned character and FOCUSES on that person after they're rejected? No.. (unless they go psychotic) because no one wants to hear about the millions that fall by the wayside without being story-worthy..

sorry, I understand what you mean... just wanted my selfish say

i did realise later that some of those points could be bad points of the story too :P

it would be helpful to have some christian fiction and movies made from them =)

but you guys get what i mean by the title right?
i didnt mean the *in a lovey dovey excited voice" why *oh why* are love stories... etc

but more of a I wonder why they are so good? how they capture hearts of many and how people love them even tho they think the process was so twisted..-- exaggerated stuffs etc

I agree with what David has already said. They're stories. And as with most stories, they're the unusual ones.

Adding to the list: people tend to pretend they're a certain character or they can identify with a certain character.

i also know that stories stem from the truth and past experiences of people.. just that maybe they are made into an ideal of their dreams etc

Stories may also stem from the fact that nothing much happens in the individual's life. =p

If you have nothing much interesting happening in your life, be like me and opt to unnecessarily complicate your life.

Been there, done (doing) that. It gets un-interesting as well. So you revert, and start again.

...because love stories are about relationships, and relationships are what we are created for.
